Truck Driver

Aries Chemical, a Water Treatment Company is searching for an experienced Truck Driver that can build strong relationships through positive experiences with our Customers, Sales Team, Manufacturing groups and Support staff that exceed the standard delivery event.

Aries Chemical is a supplier of water treatment chemicals for water clarification, cooling water, boiler and wastewater treatment. Aries product line includes oil & gas and pulp & paper chemicals. Aries Chemical also designs and manufactures equipment for purewater, wastewater treatment and water recycle and reuse.

Primary job functions:

  • Transporting finished goods, raw materials, equipment, bulk chemicals via tanker and van trailer to and from customers facilities
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Help plan routes to effectively meet delivery schedules in the North Eastern U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Document and log work/rest periods and mileage spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Report defects, accidents or violations
  • Direct and participate in the loading and unloading of all trucks and tankers

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a truck driver
  • Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, units, CB, ELD etc.)
  • Ability to meet driving demands and travel regularly
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • No recent moving or driving violations
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment references
  • Valid CDL-A license with HAZMAT certification or the ability to obtain when hired
  • Tanker endorsement
  • Ability to transport across Canadian border
  • Must conduct yourself in a professional manor at all times
  • Work as directed by their supervisor

Employee must successfully pass training exams as required by OSHA and DOT in subject areas such as hazardous communications, material handling equipment training, respirator training and other areas including DOT hazardous material handling as required. Employee must be physically fit and be capable of passing a drug and alcohol-screening test. Must be able to lift 50-70 lb. containers regularly and have no work restrictions. Good communication with office personnel required in order that Aries Chemical provides excellent customer service. Daily work schedules may be modified at any time to meet the needs of the business and may include mandatory overtime, Saturday work and other modifications as customer demands change.
