Aries Recovery RO Saves Auto Plant 15M gals of Water per Year

Posted in General

Aries recently designed, built and shipped a Recovery Reverse Osmosis (RO) system that will reduce a North American automotive assembly plant’s water consumption by approximately 15,000,000 gallons per year. Aries designed and built a 34-gpm high pressure RO that processes the reject (concentrate that normally is discharged as wastewater) from an existing pure water RO. This RO reduces the automotive plant’s water consumption by about 50,000 gals per day, or 15,000,000 gals per year. The…

Aries Starts Up New Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) Clarifier at Cheese Processor

Posted in General

Aries recently built and started up a new 200 gpm Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) Clarifier at a Cheese Processor. The DAF was installed to allow the facility to meet a new phosphorous discharge limit. The DAF used coagulants and polymer flocculants to clarify biological solids from an extended aeration lagoon and precipitate phosphorous. The DAF is designed to operate at 200 gpm with a 1,000 mg/l TSS loading. It is constructed with 304 SS to…

Aries Designs, Builds And Installs A Rotary Drum Vacuum Filter (RDVF) For A Specialty Paper Mill

Posted in General

A specialty paper mill needed to replace an aging Rotary Drum Vacuum Filter (RDVF) that filtered its wastewater prior to discharge to the local municipal treatment plant. The paper mill produced specialty paper that contained dyes, pigments and latex saturant. The mill also coats specialty paper with a variety of coatings. A RDVF was used to filter treated wastewater, because it was best suited to handling the adhesive laden wastewater. Aries was selected to supply…

210 gpm MicroFilter Softening System For Water Recycling

Posted in General

Aries recently designed, built and started up a 210 gpm MicroFilter (MF) system for water recycling softening at a major Mexican manufacturing plant. The microfilter system softens concentrate (reject) from a pure water Reverse Osmosis (RO) system. The MF permeate (softened water) is RO’d again to further increase the RO’s recovery rate thus allowing the plant to minimize its water consumption. The pure water (RO water quality) is used in the plant for a variety…

Are High Caustic Soda Prices Messing With Your Budget?

Posted in General

Caustic Soda prices have risen to unprecedented levels. Truckload costs for Caustic Soda (sodium hydroxide) are currently greater than $1,000 to $1,200 per dry ton. Just a year ago costs were one–half of this amount. Aries Magnesium Hydroxide may be your answer. It can reduce your wastewater neutralization costs dramatically. That’s because you will typically use 27% less Magnesium Hydroxide than Caustic Soda/sodium hydroxide. That’s on top of the fact that Magnesium Hydroxide will cost…
