A specialty paper mill, which uses a wide range of latex chemistry including acrylics, styrene acrylics, styrene butadiene and epoxies with many different fibers, both natural and man-made, was looking to improve the performance of their current latex cleaner in both soak tank and on machine applications. In the past, paper machine spray bars and foils were placed in the soak tank and required 7-10 days of soaking and then high-pressure cleaning to remove the stubborn latex deposits. With the change to AriKleen 5655, the soak time was reduced to 2-3 days to penetrate and lift the tenacious deposition from the equipment.
With the wide range of latex chemistry used in this mill, multiple handing systems are required. AriKleen 5655 successfully cleans the transfer hose fittings, basket filters and other associated handling equipment with excellent results.
In addition, superior performance was noted with AriKleen 5655 for on machine cleaning with less chemical being used. Operations personnel also noted that the AriKleen 5655 lacked the strong, irritating odor associated with the previous cleaner.
