A medium sized New England municipal wastewater treatment plant struggled with handling ferric chloride and magnesium hydroxide shipments and storage. Both products were delivered in totes. Unfortunately, the facility had limited space to store multiple totes, so Aries Chemical was asked for a solution. Aries provided a mini-bulk delivery system that minimized the material handling problems.
Aries responded by providing a plan to install small bulk tanks for both products. The solution allowed both products to be pumped into the bulk tanks eliminating the normal handling required by totes. The ferric chloride is a hazardous chemical, so the mini-bulk delivery minimized employee exposure to a hazardous (in this case corrosive) chemical. The magnesium hydroxide is a non-hazardous pH and alkalinity control chemistry. The mini-bulk delivery minimized the safety issues associated with tote deliveries and tote change outs.
